Our Mission

Inspire. Teach. Empower.

At Artlane Studio, we help young artists discover their creativity, and we welcome tech-loving kids too, the ones who already spend hours on screens and are ready to turn that time into something more. Together, they build real artistic skills and explore everything art has to offer.

  • Build confidence through creativity
  • Learn real skills for the future
  • Be proud of what they create

PhotoCraft Lab

Photo Editing (Computer)

Turn ordinary photos into extraordinary art, blending images, shapes, and color into surreal collages and compositions.

This is where photography meets imagination. Using Photoshop (or the free Photopea), students learn to cut, blend, and reassemble real photos into entirely new scenes, think dreamlike collages, double exposures, and compositions that look like something out of a movie poster or album cover. It's part editing, part storytelling: layering images, adjusting color and light, and combining shapes and textures to create pieces that feel genuinely surprising. This course is perfect for kids who love photography, movies, or design and want to see how professional visual effects and digital art are actually made.

  • 6 Weekly Classes
  • 90 min per class
  • Ages 10–17

Tools: Computer + Photopea (free) / Photoshop

Digital Illustration

Vector Art (Computer)

Design clean, colorful characters, stickers, and artwork using the same tools professional illustrators use, made simple and fun.

This course is all about creating crisp, colorful artwork: characters, stickers, logos, mini-posters, whatever a student can dream up, using shapes, curves, and color the way professional illustrators do. It feels a bit like digital paper-cutting: building an image piece by piece until it clicks into place, clean and polished. Kids enjoy the satisfaction of artwork that looks sharp and "finished," and along the way they're building real design skills, the same ones used in logos, book covers, and animation.

  • 90 min per class
  • Ages 10–17

iPad Digital Art

Procreate

Draw freely with a stylus using Procreate's creative brushes and colors, all the expression of traditional art, with the flexibility of digital.

This course is all about freeform drawing, using the Apple Pencil the way you'd use a real pencil, brush, or marker, but with an entire studio's worth of tools in one app. Students explore Procreate's huge range of brushes (from soft pastels to inky linework) and build confidence sketching, shading, and experimenting with color without the pressure of "getting it right." It's ideal for kids who already love doodling or drawing and want more creative freedom, richer color, and the satisfaction of a polished piece, without losing that loose, expressive, traditional-art feeling.

Meet the Instructor

Many young artists have creative ideas but need the right guidance, encouragement, and tools to bring them to life. As a graphic designer and college professor, I help students turn their screen time into meaningful creative skills.

My goal is to make digital art and design feel clear, exciting, and approachable while helping each student build confidence, express their ideas, and create work they feel proud of.
